The swing arm mechanism works fine and was designed to flip the bread to enable toasting on both sides. Nice nickel finish, could use a good cleaning and polishing. There is no cord included with this gem. Vintage toaster measures 6 1\/2 inches tall, base is 7 inches by 4 inches.
